We just wrapped up Youth In Action 2017 (hosted by Okolona Church of Christ, held at Spring Mill Bible Camp). The theme this year was “A New Hope” based on Romans 5:1-5 –

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
 (New Living Translation)

The topic I was given to speak on was “Hope for My Profile” – a new way to approach our use of social media and technology. Several people said they couldn’t be there over the weekend for various reasons, but still wanted to hear what I had to say on this topic. So here you will find an audio recording of my talk along with the presentation notes and videos.

Philippians 4:8-9 | And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
Romans *12:3 | Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.
Matthew 6:24 | No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.
